Dr. Cheri L. Atkins, PhD
Dr. Atkins grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho where most of her family still resides. She attended North Idaho College before enlisting in the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst. She spent 4 years in the Army with her most significant deployments being in Panama and then Ft. Hood near Killeen, Texas. She was honorably discharged while living in Texas. She then attended Central Texas College before transferring to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she got her Bachelor's degree. From there, she attended Idaho State University where she got her Master's Degree and then in 2004 completed her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology. She worked in private practice for 4 years specializing in psychological assessment, behavior modification, and eliminating disorders. She spent 4 years as an adjunct faculty member for the ISU psychology department post-graduate school teaching the graduate assessment course. She has a history of community outreach with previous experience offering pro-bono evaluations for juvenile detention center and was also a founding board member of All Under One Roof, a much needed center for LGBTQ youth in our area. She has been in her current position as owner and clinical director at ALLIES Family Solutions for the past 11 years. She is HI certified and works closely with ALLIES DDA to ensure programming is individualized and of the highest quality. Dr. Atkins also oversees clinical work within the ALLIES Mental Health Clinic. In addition to training and supervision, Dr. Atkins is active in providing assessments, individual therapy, family therapy and couples counseling. She enjoys hiking and backpacking in the Sawtooth and White Cloud Mountains. She also enjoys fishing and geeks out when it comes to all things Star Trek, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. |
Dr. Tana Olson, PhD
Dr. Olson received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and her Doctorate in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. She has completed special training and certificate in Infant Mental Health from the School of Nursing at the University of Washington. She also completed specialty training with a certificate in Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy through the Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Dr. Olson works with toddlers, children, adolescents and parents. She endeavors to help clients and families with a combination of behavioral and interpersonal therapies to achieve and master life changes. |
Corina Ortiz, MSW Corina was born and raised in southeastern Idaho. She graduated from Idaho State University in 2011 with her Bachelor's in Social Work. Passionate about the mental health field she immediately enrolled in graduate school and received her Master's in Social Work with the concentrations in: Management, Community Planning and Administration in Clinical Mental Health. She Graduated in 2012 from Northwest Nazarene University. Corina has been working for ALLIES Family Solutions since 2010. Originally, she started working with the Developmentally Disabled population, which she really enjoyed, so she became certified as a Habilitative Interventionist in March of 2015. Corina currently continues to to work with the Developmental Disabilities population, as well as working as a clinician. She works with individuals, families and specialized with the children population. In her spare time, Corina enjoys cooking, crafting, hunting, camping, hiking, shopping and traveling. She enjoys spending the majority of her time with her son. She also likes spending time with her family and friends. |
Ruby Ibarra, LMSW Ruby is from Ashton, Idaho, which is next to West Yellowstone National Park. She attended Idaho State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social work in 2011. She then went to Northwest Nazarene University and graduated in 2013 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health. She began working at ALLIES Family Solutions in 2013. Ruby specializes in working with the adult, teen and LGBT populations. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Expressive therapy, and Mindfulness. Ruby applies these interventions in family therapy and individual therapy to address issues related to mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma. She is also fluent in Spanish. Ruby enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and her Boston Terrier. Interests include Tim Burton films, anything Harry Potter related, painting, drawing, make-up, reading, and traveling when she has the opportunity. |
